How these pages are written
- A figure without a source is deleted
- We never soften a figure into "studies show". The site fails to build if a statistic has no working source, so a number without one cannot reach these pages by accident.
- Read from the report, not from coverage of it
- Widely shared write-ups of one report quoted here give the invoice exception rate as 22%. The published report says 14%. We use the published figure.
- The source travels with the figure
- Attribution sits under each statistic rather than in a list at the bottom, so anyone copying a number copies where it came from.
- None of these are our numbers
- Every figure comes from 5 outside publishers, each one named and linked beside the number. We do not mix our own data into them.
