Cookie policy
We use cookies to keep you signed in, process payments, understand product use, and measure sign-ups from our ads. Google Ads loads only if you allow it.

What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are required for the site to function at all, such as the one that remembers you are signed in. Others are optional and only help us understand how the product is used.
What we set
Strictly necessary
These cannot be turned off without breaking the service.
- Authentication. Set by our identity provider, Clerk, to keep you signed in and to protect against request forgery. Without these you cannot use the app.
- Payments. Set by Stripe during checkout to detect fraud. Stripe sets these directly; we do not read them.
- Preferences. Small settings such as your theme, stored so the interface looks the same next time.
Analytics
Set by PostHog so we can see which pages and features people actually use, how many visitors a page gets, and where a sign-up came from. This is how we decide what to build. It tells us that a page was viewed and roughly by what kind of visitor; it does not tell us anything about the contents of your documents, which our analytics is built to be incapable of capturing.
Advertising measurement
If you allow ad measurement, Google Ads stores ad click identifiers in first-party cookies named _gcl_*. The marketing site and app share these cookies so Google can credit a sign-up to the ad that led you here. The selected conversion window can last up to 90 days.
We disable ad personalization and Google signals. We do not send your document contents, name, or email address with the browser conversion. Declining has no effect on the product.
Turning them off
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you being able to sign in. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how the product works for you.
Most browsers also send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal if you enable it, and PostHog respects Do Not Track.
Advertising cookie choice
You can change your choice here. Declining removes LedgerBox's Google Ads cookies from this browser and stops the tag from loading on later visits.
