QFX files, and why this one is not a backlog item

QFX is Quicken's licensed variant of OFX: the same document with an Intuit-issued institution id inside it. Quicken checks that id against Intuit's own directory and refuses any file whose id is not on it. LedgerBox holds no such license, so a QFX export would be a paid download that Quicken rejects.

The blocker is Intuit's directory, not our backlog

Intuit requires an institution to register and license a bank id before Quicken will accept files carrying it. Without one, Quicken reports that it cannot verify the financial institution for the download and stops. Writing the file anyway would ship something that fails at the last step.

Renaming an OFX file to .qfx does not work

The extension is not the difference. Quicken looks inside for the licensed id, so a renamed file fails the same check for the same reason.

QFX FAQ

Does LedgerBox export QFX for Quicken?

No, and not because it is queued. Quicken only accepts QFX files carrying an institution id licensed from Intuit, and LedgerBox does not hold one. What ships instead is OFX, QIF, CSV, and an Excel workbook.

What can I import into Quicken today?

QIF is the usual answer, because it carries no institution id for Quicken to check. Failing that, the published CSV mapped in Quicken's own import. The OFX file is worth trying and may hit the same verification check the QFX would.

Will LedgerBox ever write QFX?

It becomes a small change on the day an Intuit bank id exists. The OFX writer already takes the Intuit tags as an option, so adding them is not a rewrite. Until the license exists, the file cannot be made to work.
