Getting statement data into Sage
There is no Sage file and no Sage connection. What there is: a CSV and an Excel workbook whose columns we publish exactly, which is most of the work of importing into Sage already done. The rest happens in Sage's own import screen.
What you can do today
No Sage file
Export a CSV or Excel workbook. Map the LedgerBox columns in the Sage import screen. A specific Sage file is planned.
The layouts you would be mapping
LedgerBox does not create a Sage file or connect to Sage. Use the available export method shown here.
Getting data into Sage today
-
Convert the statement in LedgerBox
Upload the PDF, let the balances reconcile, and clear anything that came back flagged before you export.
-
Download a CSV or an Excel workbook
Date, description, debit, credit, balance, one row per transaction. The layouts are published, so nothing about the file is a surprise.
-
Import it in Sage and map the columns
Sage's importer is where our column names meet its fields. Set up once per bank account and the following months are a download and an upload.
Import notes
Review the available spreadsheet option and the planned format checks.
Import column mapping
Sage defines its accepted columns. LedgerBox publishes its own export layouts. Complete the final mapping in Sage.
Manual import
LedgerBox does not connect to Sage. Download the export file and import it in Sage.
Planned format checks
LedgerBox will add the format after it can create and import the file in Sage. The transactions must import with the correct values.
Sage FAQ
Does LedgerBox integrate with Sage?
No. There is no Sage connection and no Sage-specific export file. The one posting integration LedgerBox has is QuickBooks Online. Getting rows into Sage today means exporting a spreadsheet and importing it there.
Which columns should I map in Sage?
Our side is fixed and published: date, description, debit, credit, balance. Which of those Sage wants, and under what names, depends on the Sage product and edition, so we point you at its importer rather than printing a mapping we have not tested.
Is a Sage export planned?
Yes, and it is not here. It ships once we can generate the file, import it into Sage, and confirm the transactions land correctly, which is the same bar every export format has to clear.
Clean rows first, then import them anywhere.
Upload a document and download the export in under a minute. No card required.
