What a QBO file is
QFX and QBO are the same document with a different institution tag. Quicken reads QFX, QuickBooks Web Connect reads QBO, and each refuses the other on the strength of that tag alone.
The converter reads the transactions out of the QFX and writes them into a QBO. The account number ending, the currency, the statement period, and the closing balance all carry across, because both formats have a place to say them.
What the conversion keeps
A QBO file has a place for some of what a QFX file holds and not for the rest. Both lists come from the two formats, so neither can claim something the file cannot say.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and rewritten in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored. You can turn off your network connection and the converter still works.
Can this convert a QBO back to a QFX?
No. Writing a QFX needs an Intuit institution licence LedgerBox does not hold, and Quicken rejects a QFX whose institution id it cannot match. A file we could write would fail at import.
Can I convert a PDF bank statement here?
No. This tool reads data files, not documents. LedgerBox reads PDF and photographed statements and writes the same output formats.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, no email field, and no limit on how many files you convert.
